Sixth Form at 缅北禁地

At 缅北禁地 we are proud of our successful Post 16 provision. Each year we are joined by a number of external students, who are attracted by the unique learning environment that 缅北禁地 has to offer.

Our Sixth Form comprises of 350 students who study a wide range of academic and vocational courses. Students have the choice of studying three or four A levels, BTEC programmes (equivalent up to three A levels) or a combination of A levels with BTEC programmes.

Sixth Form students are supported by strong careers and education guidance, providing a road map for every student and preparing them for the next stage of their life whether it be university, employment with training or an apprenticeship.

As with all students at the Academy, Sixth Form students access additional learning support and enrichment through Session 3, either individually or in small groups. University visits, the Duke of Edinburgh Award up to Gold standard and a wide array of sports are amongst the many extended curriculum opportunities available to students.

No student will leave the school without a clear career plan. To support students to reach this goal, they commonly receive an enhanced work experience in 缅北禁地 to aid with career planning.

All post-16 students undertake a full-time programme made up of A-levels and/or Level 3 vocational programmes. Students study the equivalent of 3 A-level sized courses.

Students requiring resits in English and/or maths will study these from the start of 缅北禁地. They will continue to study these until a Grade 4 has been secured in each GCSE subject.

All 缅北禁地 students undertake a one-week work experience programme in the Summer Term. Where placements cannot be sought, students undertake an Employability Programme engaging with a range of employers.

Our students participate in:
  • Tutorial sessions
  • Citizenship education
  • PHSE
  • Relationships and Sex Education
  • Leadership activities
  • Assemblies
  • HE events
  • Trips and visits
  • Visiting speakers
  • Sports and recreation
  • Careers guidance and advice
  • Independent study sessions
  • Library sessions
  • Wider reading

缅北禁地 provides a curriculum which offers considerable breadth for students through a range of BTEC and Advanced General Certificate of Education courses

We are an excellent choice for students wishing to study a combination of academic and vocational courses leading directly to the opportunity to study at university. Other courses will be offered if there proves to be sufficient demand and courses may be offered via a range of ICT applications. Students must have a minimum of a level 4 in English and Maths, and 5 level 9-4 passes at GCSE.
